Viana's Beads

Portuguese Viana beads are made of small beads decorated with filigree designs.
The beads are hollow inside, very light and therefore economical, which made them the main treasure of the Portuguese people.

Viana beads mean symbols of protection and good luck.
Normally the godmother gives the first bill to the goddaughter at baptism.
Then the girls, receiving beads after beads as gifts or buying them, collected these beads for the wedding.
The number of beads in the decoration can be any. There is no fixed number of beads when a necklace is considered complete.
On her wedding day, the bride wears beads as a symbol of protection and good luck in the future.
