Portuguese filigree and a royal wedding
On 7 October 2023, Infanta Maria Francisca married Duarte Martins, a lawyer.

On the eve of the religious ceremony, the bride and groom had a party at the bride's parents' house, in São Pedro de Sintra. At this party, Maria Francisca wore the traditional Minho costume.

The province of Minho is located in the north of Portugal. The traditional costumes of Minho show Portuguese filigree in all its splendor. Of course, these jewelry are an obligatory attribute of a Minho wedding attire.

For the Infanta's wedding, two huge cakes were made, each with four layers, covered with royal icing and decorated with silver filigree hearts created by a jeweler from Gondomar.
