In September 2026, Joalharia do Carmo opened its first store outside Portugal in the heart of New York City — on Times Square, between 47th and 48th Streets.
This ambitious project by the O Valor do Tempo group aims to make the world fall in love with the exquisite art of Portuguese filigree.
It was a truly grand event. The opening was attended not only by company executives, investors, and business leaders but also by the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro. Representatives from the country’s "jewelry capitals"—Aurora Vieira (Tourism Councilor for Gondomar) and Gilberto Anjos (Economic Development Councilor for Póvoa de Lanhoso)—also arrived to support the launch.
Joalharia do Carmo in New York is a veritable kingdom of filigree! The collection features everything from delicate rings and earrings to luxurious pendants, hair accessories, and even handbags.
Here, centuries-old traditions and ultra-modern trends intertwine just like the intricate patterns of filigree itself.
Today, Joalharia do Carmo collaborates with 18 Portuguese artisans, and the unique signature of each creator is evident in every piece.
And this is just the beginning! New York marks the first step. Paris is next on the brand's agenda, followed by further expansion into Asia and South America.
